Employers liked the Academy staffs' knowledge and understanding of the sector and the support and flexible approach to minimise disruptions to their businesses.
Very effective individual coaching supporting learners to build on high-quality hairdressing practice.
Good opportunities are available to enable learners to access learning and assessment.
Learners like the welcoming and safe environment and individual support they receive to help keep up with their studies, as well as help to resolve personal and work related problems.
Learners enjoy their learning, are motivated and feel safe. They develop good employability skills enabling them to feel confident in their work.

The Education team at Shears will train your apprentice one day a week at our Academy in Catford, south east London. We deliver all the lectures your apprentice will need to underdstand the theory and underpinning knowledge for them to pass their practical assignments, either here at our commercial standard training salon, or in the later modules, in-salon. Our team of Salon Co-ordinators will coming out to visit both you and your apprentice in the salon, and support you to develop your own in-house training programme. In partnership we can create the hairdressers of the future, tailor made to your business!

New "Fast-Track" 16 – 18 Apprenticeship
“Fast-Track” 16 – 18 Apprenticeship Programme at Shears Academy!
Having the business advantage of employing an Apprentice has never been as important to small salons as it is in the current financial climate … but if do not have the volume of work at present to employ a full time Apprentice, take a look at the " 16-18 Fast-Track" scheme.
You employ an Apprentice in your salon for just two days per week* plus two days training at the Academy. Your apprentice could get be qualified within a year.
Apprentices must be under 19 and paid a minimum of two days in your salon, leading in time to at least 30 hours per week, and one Academy training day, Minimum pay rate for Apprentices is 2.60 per hour (approx £60.00 per week)
